nice to meet you.

I grew up in a small town in northern New Jersey and hold an MA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from John Hopkins University. I earned my BA in English and a minor in Marketing from Hofstra University, where I now teach as an adjunct professor in their Publishing Studies program. I have spent my professional life working in book publishing while exploring New Jersey, NYC, Long Island, Austin, Los Angeles, and western Colorado; presently splitting my time between Grand Junction, Colorado and New Jersey. Currently, I am the Biology + Astronomy Marketing Manager for W. W. Norton's college division, where I've worked for almost six years.

I like to spend my time journaling and learning about somatic healing, breathwork, and mindset work. I am certified in Ayurvedic practices and nervous system foundations from the Yogi Fuel Academy and am working on a 6-month certification to become a SoulFlow™ Embodiment Master Practitioner through Andee Love. Our bodies hold all of our pain and repressed emotions, and movement is a way to move that energy through us. You can find me starting my days by walking, running, dancing, or doing yoga or barre. I am dedicated to a lifetime of learning and find fulfillment in studying language, psychology, environmental science, and mathematics.

I love the sun on my skin and long car rides. I am terribly fascinated with how places and homes become a part of us, and how we become a part of them in exchange.

you're invited on the journey.

I hope you'll subscribe to my newsletter, lingerings.

A modern tragedy is how we've been programmed to hate ourselves more than we love ourselves. Join me as I share stories from my life and try to make sense of and bring curiosity to this human experience.

my mantra: sunyata.

sunyata (n.) : this Sanskrit term literally translates to English as meaning emptiness and voidness.

Intrinsically, all things are empty of existence and meaning. A red light signifies "stop" because we have assigned that meaning; a table exists now as a table, but as a bumblebee in some future. Understanding this nonexistence is the key to a humble being. Our selves are empty of meaning. Nature as it appears at any present or past moment is never and will never be exactly the same. By accepting this, we are able to disentangle from material connections. This ability to detach and realize emptiness is calmness and peace in a world so focused on fullness. To realize emptiness is to realize you are part of the universe and one day, you may be a sunflower standing tall, void of the self you identify as today. I am here today, but who knows where my atoms will be tomorrow.
